Biodiversity experts have urged that the HDFC Bank Unite Goa Trail Run should not be held on 18 August 2019, as it is right in the middle of the breeding season for certain birds and snakes that are indigenous to the Socorro Plateau, and which lay their eggs on the ground.

Consequently, we have decided to postpone the HDFC Bank Unite Goa Trail Run. We are very sorry for the inconvenience we are causing to you. It breaks our heart too, but we feel the cause of the Earth takes priority.

The new dates will be announced in due course.

We will initiate a full refund to each and every participant.

The HDFC Bank Goa Trail Run is a completely off-the-road Run | Walk event. Participants run through forests, dirt trails and grasslands dotted with thousands of tiny, colourful wild flowers. They see nature at its finest. Calls of peacocks and cries of lapwings serenade them as they make their way through the verdant green terrain.

This first-of-its-kind Trail Run is not deep in the state’s interiors. It is on the Socorro Plateau in Porvorim, Panaji's main suburb. It is an unspoiled wonderland in the very middle of Goa’s fastest-growing urban agglomeration.

The concept behind the HDFC Bank Goa Trail Run is to use, appreciate, enjoy and preserve areas of urban wilderness. In a world that is fast becoming concretised, these 'lungs' preserve not just the environment, but the physical and mental health and well-being of the residents of the area.

There are two races — 10K (one loop of 10km) or Half Marathon (two loops of 10km and a little). There's also the 7.5K Fun Run (a short route of 7.5km). Participants can run, walk, or even amble along, stopping to smell the thousands of wild flowers along the route. They have a full three-and-a-half hours to complete the distance. Reporting time is at 6:30am on Sunday 18 August 2019 at the cricket ground on the Socorro Plateau.

There are two categories — Open (18+) and Veteran (45+) — with medals and prizes for the first three men and women in the Open and Veteran category. Students get a concession on entry fee (ID card from an educational institution required), but they compete in the Open Category. All participants get Finisher Medals and online certificates. Online registration is open till 23:55hrs on Sunday 28 July 2019. No spot registration will be allowed.
